Synology has announced the launch of its latest NAS products, the DiskStation neo+ Series, comprising four new models: DS1825neo+, DS1525neo+, DS925neo+, and DS725neo+. This series is designed as a new option, allowing users to access high-performance NAS at a more budget-friendly starting price.
💡 A More Flexible Choice
The core of the neo+ Series is the adjustment of the default memory configuration. All models come with 4GB of non-ECC DDR4 SODIMM RAM, which significantly reduces the initial cost. However, they are still built on the same popular DS Plus Series platform, ensuring performance and stability. The neo+ Series will be sold alongside the existing Plus Series models, offering a wider range of choices to customers based on their varying budgets and usage requirements.
🚀 Uncompromised Performance and Clear Upgrade Path
Despite being a more accessible price point, Synology has not compromised on performance. All models in the neo+ Series still come with M.2 slots for SSD caching to accelerate data access and feature standard 2.5GbE high-speed network ports. Additionally, users can expand storage capacity via the DX525 Expansion Unit.
For larger models like the DS1825neo+ and DS1525neo+, there are also PCIe 3.0 slots for installing additional 10GbE or 25GbE network cards in the future. Most importantly, all models still support upgrading to ECC memory up to 32GB to fully accommodate increased workloads in the future.

The DiskStation neo+ Series runs on the powerful Synology DiskStation Manager (DSM) operating system, just like its predecessors. This allows users to access comprehensive data management solutions, including Synology Drive for creating a private cloud, Active Backup Suite for backing up computers, servers, and various cloud accounts, or Surveillance Station for professionally managing CCTV systems and building an NVR.
